Raid Themes

The Symbols

As seen below, there are four symbols of each genus (Bird, Fish, Snake, Dragon) and they're labelled in fairly simplistic ways for easy call-outs throughout the raid. They're especially important in the Kalli, Vault and Riven encounters. These are what our clan uses, and every raid group will have their own call-outs.

If ever in doubt, always be as descriptive as you can be, for example, "Bird Fly" can be described as "Bird with Wings Down". A good rule is to describe the genus first, and then descriptors that follow it, à la the above, or a "Dragon Holding a Spear", or even a "Dragon with a Spear through its Neck". Notice that the condition of the spear can mean two different symbols (Spear Left and Spear Right, respectively).

Eyes, Mights, Essences and Strengths

The Eyes of Riven and Taken Essences

These enemies will harass your fireteam with their usual Taken Captain bubbles that obscure your vision and it is always a good idea to take them down as fast as you can. When killed, they will always drop an item that is called the "Taken Essence", that stays on the ground for 45 seconds.

After it being picked up, interacting (Super or Grenade ability while holding the item) with the item serves different purposes. It extends timers at the Shuro Chi encounter and allows cleansing your teammates in the Morgeth encounter. The Queenswalk encounter has a similarly functioning element, minus the interaction.

The Mights of Riven

These enemies serve as a major annoyance as they're quite like tanks and do not go down very easily. In The Vault encounter, they serve as a wipe mechanic. In The Queenswalk encounter, they will chase you down and harass you with powerful sword swings until you put them down.

Taken Strength

This is a item/object that the player has to pass through, after a single jump, to be able to obtain its status effects, as opposed to holding the interact button on it like the Taken Essence above. This item usually serves as a debuff to the boss and/or as a buff to the player. The former is for the Morgeth encounter and the latter is for The Queenswalk encounter.
