Team Composition and Loadouts
Let's take a look at what your Guardian should bring into the raid and how best to kit them up for max firepower. As always, use what you prefer, but this will give you a sharper edge.
Your fireteam leader is floating in orbit and you're about to join up. Ask them which class of Guardians they would like or mention which characters you would want to bring along. You'd like to have a good weapons and armor setup so that you're up there on the kill count, and some encounters are technical enough that even armor perks will matter a lot. There's a cheeky little section in the Riven encounter that is a community favorite and exemplifies this.

Classes and Sub-classes
The configurations mentioned below can make or break encounters, but don't be dismayed if you don't possess any particular item, since you can make up for the lack of them with good team coordination.
Hunter
Nightstalker (Top Tree) + Orpheus Rig
Warlock
Well of Radiance + Lunafaction Boots (do not equip when using Whisper of the Worm)
Titan
Sunbreaker (Top Tree) + Hallowfire Heart
Weapons, Perks and Mods
A good balance to always have is a Primary, a Shotgun and a Power weapon to suit the encounter.
Kinetic
Threat Level (Curated with a Major Spec/Boss Spec Mod)
Energy
Nation of Beasts (Curated with a Dragonfly Spec Mod)
Heavy
Whisper of the Worm (preferably Masterworked)
Tractor Cannon (preferably Masterworked)

Mobility Exotics - St0mp-EE5, Transversive Steps, Lion Rampant
Perks
Rocket Launcher Reserves
Grenade Launcher Reserves

Enhanced versions of Targeting and/or Unflinching Aim perks for your weapons
